To provide accurate information about its activities, the Cooperative inaugurated the Visitor Centre at its Valpelline warehouse in 2003.
The centre is divided into three sections: one dedicated to the history, one to the territory and one to the method of processing milk in fontina.
Through the screening of a video, an image gallery and a small but interesting museum, the visitor gets to know, in a few minutes, all those aspects that characterise the production of fontina.
All this is followed by, in a particularly picturesque environment, a visit to the warehouse, during which it is explained how the cheeses are processed manually one by one and how these evolve from the moment they enter the warehouse until they reach optimum ripeness.
- Coming from the Milan/Turin-Aosta: follow the signs for Gran San Bernardo. After the tunnel, continue on the Regional Road (SR 28) towards Bionaz.
- From Aosta: follow directions to the State Road (SS 27) in the direction of Gran San Bernardo. Once in Variney, continue on the Regional Road (SR 28) towards Bionaz.
